I was lucky enough to be on a trip to Tasmania at the end of June. More luckily I stayed at one of the best place in Hobart: Somerset on the pier. I would like to share some of my thoughts about this place.
It is definitely someplace that you want to spend during your holiday. Most convenient location, friendly service, and with a unique lifestyle for you to enjoy.
Well, I have been dreaming about living in all those fancy apartments on the pier at Woolloomooloo in Sydney. I finally can have my dream come true even just for two nights. The whole hotel is built on the pier, this will definitely give you the experience that you never had before, and the view that you always had in your dreams.
Also, if you are in Hobart for the dark mofo, I couldn't find a better place to recommend for you to stay since the ferry is just 2 mins away.
With a warm welcoming from the reception, I arrived my room after a long week of travel. I could not complain anything about my room: Spacious, brightly furnished, warm, have free access to the Foxtel, and complimentary Wifi for you to use.
I felt guilty that I had so much seafood during the stay there so I wondered if there was gym that I can burn some calories. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that I hope Somerset could improve, but the friendly staff did tell me that there are quite a few gyms around that I could get a day pass easily! Problem solved, yet I didn't go to the gym, I called room service and had some more burgers instead...#whoneedsagymwhenyouhaveamazingroomservice
Another thing I enjoyed the most is the customer lounge area when I had to wait for my airport transportation. It even includes a private bathroom!
Well, as I said, the location is one of the best thing about this hotel.
First thing to start the day is breakfast. You can definitely can order room service and have your breakfast in bed. Also, there are some amazing breakfast places on Argyle St, which are all within 5 mins of walk from your hotel room! Here are a few that I have tried myself.
- Pilgrim 48 Argyle St
- Franklin Bar 28-30 Argyle St
- Pigeon Whole Bakers 32 Argyle St
Also, the ferry to the MONA, Tasmanian Museum Art Gallery and Salamanca market are at your door step as well!
It is definitely one of the best hotel experiences that I have ever had. It definitely add more fun in my trip to Tasmania. Also, if I have chance to be there, this will always be my first choice to stay.
